Family Owned & Operated for Over 60 Years
Harris Masonry, originally Donald Harris Inc., was founded in 1959 by Donald Harris alongside his brother Jerre. Don and Jerre were both Union Bricklayers and they started the business in the basement of Don’s house in Carnegie, PA.
In the late 1960s, the brothers expanded their operations and moved into the West End of Pittsburgh at 420 Greentree Road. Since then, our team and office has grown exponentially with the industry. As our company changed over the years, so did our name. In September of 1962, Harris Masonry was incorporated, becoming Donald Harris Inc. then D. Harris Masonry Contracting in 1984, then finally Harris Masonry Inc. in 1987.
To this day Harris Masonry is family owned and operated and has grown and changed over generations, by generations. Since entering the Masonry business some 60 years ago, HMI has built thousands of buildings in and around the tri-state area, West Virginia, Ohio and Western & Central Pa. It is impactful to every member of our team to see how we have changed the face of communities and impacted lives with the projects we complete.

We work to foster an environment where each employee is encouraged to seek innovative solutions to challenging problems. This includes our whole team, from the office staff to the estimators, project managers, foremen bricklayers and laborers. Focused on client service, camaraderie and cohesion, our team-focused mentality translates directly to how we treat our building partners and clients.
It is also important that we as a company contribute to the betterment of the industry overall. To that end, our leadership team contributes to numerous boards, organizations, and associations.
Today, HMI is a proud member of many organizations in the construction community such as Master Builders Association, Construction Advancement Program of Western PA. Pennsylvania Builders Exchange, and the Mason Contractors Association of Western PA. , Mason Contractors Association of America
HMI is in signed agreement with many locals of both the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers , and Labors International Union of North America
